About “Warlord of the Air”
The Warlord of the Air is a 1971 British alternate history novel by Michael Moorcock. It follows Oswald Bastable, an Edwardian soldier stationed in India, who travels to an alternate future where the First World War never occurred. The story takes place in a universe with speculative technology set against an Edwardian backdrop. It is the first book in Moorcock's A Nomad of the Time Streams trilogy. The novel was published by Ace Books as part of their Ace Science Fiction Specials series and is considered one of the earliest examples of the steampunk genre.
