What if Rapunzel's mother drank a potion from the wrong flower? In this retelling, the queen becomes ill and the people search for the all-healing Sundrop flower. Instead, they find the Moondrop, which heals the queen but gives her daughter, Rapunzel, magical hair that can hurt rather than heal. To keep the kingdom safe, Rapunzel is locked away in a tower and cared for by Mother Gothel. For eighteen years, she remains there, believing she must protect others from her powers. On her birthday, she sees floating lights and decides to leave her tower. She meets two thieves, Gina and Flynn Rider, and joins them on an adventure. Rapunzel soon discovers that her story and her powers are more complex than she ever imagined.
