About “Cargo of Eagles”

In this, Margery Allingham's final novel, the story takes place in Saltey, a coastal town known for harboring criminals for generations. Set in the early 1960s, the town is struggling with an influx of teenage gangs. Albert Campion, now in his late middle age, persuades his assistant Lugg to move to Saltey. His reason is partly the presence of a recently released thief who has taken shelter there. However, Campion's main focus is the mysterious and revived legend of the Saltey Demon.
