About “Sweet danger”

During the Crusades, Richard I granted the tiny Balkan principality of Averna to the Huntingforest family, but the kingdom was later forgotten. When Averna becomes strategically important to the British Government, they hire detective Albert Campion to recover the missing documents proving ownership—the deeds, a crown, and a receipt. These items are believed to be hidden in the village of Pontisbright. Campion, along with friends Eager-Wright and Farquharson, arrives and meets the eccentric Fitton family, who claim to be the rightful heirs. Criminal financier Brett Savanake also seeks the documents for his own purposes. As tensions rise, Campion faces numerous dangers, including dressing in drag, nearly drowning, and his friends being captured and subjected to a satanic ceremony. The village's peaceful atmosphere is completely disrupted.
