Alex Cross, a respected detective, is charged with killing followers of his enemy Gary Soneji. He claims it was self-defense, but the public and jury may not see it that way. As he fights to protect his career and freedom, his former partner, John Sampson, gives him a disturbing video linked to missing girls. Despite being suspended, Cross joins the investigation, leading them to dark parts of the Internet where murder is treated as entertainment. The trial draws national attention, and even those close to Cross begin to doubt his innocence. He must prove his innocence to his family and the court, all while trying to stop a dangerous criminal—no matter the cost to himself.
