Ann Maringer is a go-go dancer who believes her life is in danger and that she will soon be killed. Her only hope is Amos Walker, a hot-tempered private investigator based in Detroit. Known for his sharp wit and tendency to get into trouble, Walker is drawn into the case when Ann disappears. As he investigates, he uncovers a complex web of suspects, including a union boss, a corrupt judge, a vengeful son, and a concerned mistress. Each of them has a motive, and all want Walker dead.
