About “Death Valley”
The Death Valley '49ers were a group of pioneers from the Eastern United States who traveled during the late 1840s in search of gold during the California Gold Rush. Their journey took them through the Great Basin Desert in Nevada, as well as Death Valley and the Mojave Desert in Southern California, en route to the Sutter's Fort area of the Central Valley and the Sierra Nevada.
