About “Dead Lagoon”

Dead Lagoon is the fourth novel in Michael Dibdin's series featuring detective Aurelio Zen. In the story, Zen arranges to be assigned to Venice, his hometown, to take on private detective work for his American ex-girlfriend. He successfully completes both his official and unofficial investigations. However, he faces challenges, including conflict with a local politician and a childhood friend, which leads to the loss of his youthful ideals. The novel is set in a richly described Venetian atmosphere.
