Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad ibn Yaʿqūb al-Hamdānī was an Arab Muslim scholar from the tribe of Banu Hamdan, western 'Amran, Yemen. He was a geographer, chemist, poet, grammarian, historian, and astronomer. His work was recognized as part of Islamic culture during the final period of the Abbasid Caliphate. He was the subject of 19th-century Austrian scholarship.
