Alexander Comfort was a British scientist and physician known for his nonfiction sex manual, The Joy of Sex, published in 1972. He was also a poet, author, and scholar who wrote on topics including sexology, gerontology, and political theory. Comfort was active as an anarchist and pacifist, and he contributed to both fiction and nonfiction literature. He lived from 1920 to 2000.
