Ali-Asghar Hekmat

Ali-Asghar Hekmat (1892–1980) was an Iranian politician, diplomat, and author who served as minister of foreign affairs, minister of justice, and minister of culture during the reigns of Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Shah. He was an Iranian ambassador to India and wrote several books about Indian history and culture. After the 1979 Iranian revolution his works were neglected, though one of them, Persian Inscriptions on Indian Monuments, was later reprinted.
