Anania Shirakatsi was a 7th-century Armenian polymath and natural philosopher who authored works in mathematics, astronomy, geography, and chronology. His writings established him as the father of the exact and natural sciences in Armenia, marking him as the first Armenian mathematician, astronomer, and cosmographer. He is recognized as an Armenian scientist whose contributions laid foundational groundwork in multiple scientific fields. Little is known of his life beyond his own writings.
