Maurice R. Coons, known by the pen name Armitage Trail, was an American pulp fiction author. He is best known for his 1929 novel Scarface, based on the life of gangster Al Capone, which was adapted into a 1932 film directed by Howard Hawks. His other notable work is the detective novel The Thirteenth Guest, though he is speculated to have used various pseudonyms. Coons was born in 1902 and died in 1930.
