Augusto Monterroso Bonilla (Tegucigalpa, 21 December 1921–Mexico City, 7 February 2003), known as Tito Monterroso, was a Honduran writer who became a Guatemalan national and lived in exile in Mexico. He is considered one of the masters of microfiction and, in a concise manner, addressed complex and fascinating themes. He was a member of the Honduran Academy of Language. His work is noted for its brevity and depth, and he is recognized as an influential figure in the genre of short-form fiction.
