Frédéric-Louis Sauser, known as Blaise Cendrars, was a Swiss-born novelist and poet who became a naturalized French citizen in 1916. He was active in the European modernist movement and had a significant influence as a writer. Cendrars was born on 1 September 1887 and died on 21 January 1961. He is recognized as a prominent figure in modernist literature.
