Boris Pahor was a Slovene novelist from Trieste, Italy, who wrote about his experiences as a member of the Slovenian minority in fascist Italy and as a survivor of Nazi concentration camps. His novel Necropolis includes his reflection on the Natzweiler-Struthof camp, written twenty years after his transfer to Dachau. He was relocated to Mittelbau-Dora, Harzungen, and Bergen-Belsen before the latter was liberated on 15 April 1945. Pahor lived from 1913 to 2022.
