Carlos Ruiz Zafón

Carlos Ruiz Zafón was a Spanish novelist born in Barcelona on September 25, 1964, who became one of the best-selling Spanish authors of his generation. He is best known for The Cemetery of Forgotten Books tetralogy, a gothic mystery series set in post-Civil War Barcelona, launched by his landmark 2001 novel The Shadow of the Wind. He spent much of his later career in Los Angeles, where he died on June 19, 2020.
