John Casey was an Irish geometer known for his work on geometric theorems, particularly Casey's theorem, which involves a circle tangent to four other circles. He extended Ptolemy's theorem and provided new proofs and insights in Euclidean geometry. He is recognized as a co-founder of the modern geometry of the circle and the triangle, alongside Émile Lemoine. Casey was born in 1820 and died in 1891.
