Charles Haddon Spurgeon was an English Particular Baptist preacher who remained highly influential among Christians of various denominations. He was known as the "Prince of Preachers" and was a strong figure in the Baptist tradition, defending the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. Spurgeon opposed the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day. He was a British preacher, author, pastor, and evangelist who lived from 1834 to 1892.
