Ch'oe Sejin (1473–1542) was a Korean linguist, translator, and interpreter of Chinese during the Joseon Dynasty. He is widely known for his research on the Korean hangul alphabet and his comparative studies of Chinese and Korean, work that helped propagate hangul at a time when Chinese characters were the main writing system. He served as an official interpreter for the Korean embassies in Beijing.
