Christopher Vincent Metzen (born November 22, 1973) is an American game designer, voice actor, artist, and author. He is known for creating the fictional universes and scripts for Blizzard Entertainment's major media franchises: Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft. Metzen was hired by Blizzard Entertainment as an animator and artist, beginning his work with the video game Justice League Task Force. He served as Senior Vice President of Story and Franchise Development at the company, providing voice talent for characters such as Thrall from the Warcraft series. Metzen retired in September 2016 but returned to Blizzard in December 2022 as a creative advisor.
