Christopher Paolini is an American author born on November 17, 1983, who rose to prominence after writing Eragon as a teenager — the first book in his epic fantasy series The Inheritance Cycle. The series follows the young Dragon Rider Eragon and became a bestselling phenomenon, spawning three sequels and a feature film adaptation. Paolini has continued writing speculative fiction, expanding into science fiction with his novel To Sleep in a Sea of Stars.
