Colin Henry Wilson (1931-2013) was a British writer and philosopher who wrote works on philosophy, true crime, and mysticism, as well as novels. Born and raised in Leicester, England, the son of a factory worker, he left school at 16 to work in a wool warehouse, later working as a lab assistant and civil servant before being called up as a clerk for the Royal Air Force. His first book, The Outsider, was published in 1956.
