Cressida Cowell is a British author and illustrator born in 1966, best known for creating the beloved How to Train Your Dragon series, which follows the adventures of a young Viking named Hiccup and inspired a major DreamWorks animated franchise. She grew up partly on a small uninhabited island off the west coast of Scotland, an experience that deeply shaped her imaginative storytelling. In addition to her dragon saga, she has written the Wizards of Once series and numerous picture books for young children.
