Don Coldsmith (1926-2009) was an American author of primarily Western fiction and a past president of Western Writers of America, who wrote more than 40 books along with hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. His Spanish Bit Saga, a series of related novels, helped redefine the Western novel by adopting the point of view of Native Americans rather than European immigrants.
