Sir Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge was an English Egyptologist, Orientalist, and philologist who worked for the British Museum and published numerous works on the ancient Near East. His writings covered topics such as Egyptian hieroglyphics, the Book of the Dead, the Rosetta Stone, the Nile, mummies, and ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife. He contributed scholarly works on amulets, superstitions, and the literature of the ancient Egyptians.
