Edmund Selous

Edmund Selous (1857–1934) was a British ornithologist and writer, and the younger brother of the big-game hunter Frederick Selous. Born in London to a wealthy stockbroker, he was educated privately and matriculated at Pembroke College, Cambridge, in 1877. He trained as a barrister and was called to the bar in 1881, but practised only briefly before retiring to pursue the study of natural history and literature.
