Edward Gorey

1 standalone book

Edward Gorey was an American writer and artist (1925-2000) noted for his macabre illustrated books, typically described as an illustrator though works like The Object Lesson earned respect as surrealist art. He experimented with wordless books, matchbox-sized books, pop-up books, and books populated entirely by inanimate objects, and classified his own work as literary nonsense in the tradition of Lewis Carroll and Edward Lear.
