Emily Jane Brontë was an English novelist and poet who lived from 1818 to 1848. She is best known for her novel Wuthering Heights, a classic of English literature. She was the second eldest of the three surviving Brontë sisters, with Charlotte and Anne being her sisters. Brontë published her work under the pen name Ellis Bell, which was an androgynous name. Her novel Wuthering Heights remains her most significant literary contribution.
