Emmanuelle Arsan was the pen name of Marayat Rollet-Andriane (1932–2005), a Thai-French novelist best known for the novel featuring the fictional character Emmanuelle, a woman who sets out on a voyage of sexual self-discovery under varying circumstances. After her death, it was claimed that the book's real author was her husband, the diplomat Louis-Jacques Rollet-Andriane.
