Eric Frank Russell (1905–1978) was a British science fiction author who wrote primarily for American pulp magazines. His work was characterized by wit, satire, and an anti-authoritarian tone. He was a significant figure in science fiction during the 1950s. Russell is best known for his novels Wasp and Sinister Barrier, as well as for winning the 1955 Hugo Award for his short story "Allamagoosa." His writing often explored themes of individualism and resistance to oppressive systems.
