Euclid

2 standalone books

Euclid was an ancient Greek mathematician active as a geometer and logician around 300 BC. Considered the "father of geometry", he is chiefly known for the Elements, a treatise that established the foundations of geometry and largely dominated the field until the early 19th century. His system, now referred to as Euclidean geometry, drew on and synthesised the work of earlier Greek mathematicians, and he is generally counted among the greatest mathematicians of antiquity.
