Euripides

2 series 24 books in order

Euripides was one of the three great tragedians of classical Athens, alongside Aeschylus and Sophocles. Ancient scholars attributed ninety-five plays to him, though four of these were likely written by Critias. Eighteen or nineteen of Euripides' plays have survived in full, with debate surrounding the authorship of Rhesus, primarily based on stylistic differences. Fragments of most of his other plays also exist. More of his works have survived than those of Aeschylus and Sophocles combined, due to the unique nature of the Euripidean manuscript tradition.
