Ezzo was an 11th-century German scholar and priest of Bamberg. He is the author of the Ezzolied (also known as the Anegenge, or "Beginning"), an early Middle High German poem written in the 1060s and regarded as the first poetic text of the High Middle Ages to join the German vernacular with Latin learning.
