Futaro Yamada was a Japanese author known for his mystery and ninja stories. He was born in Yabu, Hyogo, and began his writing career in 1947 with a short story that earned him a prize from the magazine Houseki. He was discovered by Edogawa Rampo and later became a novelist, with many of his works adapted for film, TV, manga, and anime. Yamada lived from 1922 until 2001.
