Fazlallah Khunji Isfahani was a Persian religious scholar, historian, and political writer. He was born in 1455 in Shiraz, in the region of Fars, and belonged to the Ruzbihan family, descended from the Sufi author Ruzbihan Baqli. He left Shiraz in 1487 for a Hajj and later wrote the history of the Aq Qoyunlu dynasty. After the Shi'ification of Iran under Shah Ismail I, he fled to Transoxiana, where he lived under the patronage of the Timurids and Shaybanids until his death in 1521.
