Fedor Gladkov

Feodor Vasilyevich Gladkov was a Russian and Soviet socialist realist writer. He joined a Marxist group in 1904 and in 1905 went to Tiflis (now Tbilisi), where he was arrested for revolutionary activities and sentenced to three years of exile. He later moved to Novorossiysk. Gladkov held several editorial roles, including editor of the newspaper Krasnoye Chernomorye, secretary of the journal Novy Mir, and special correspondent for Izvestia. He also served as director of the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow from 1945 to 1948. He was awarded the Stalin Prize in 1949 for his literary work and is recognized as a classic figure in Soviet Socialist Realist literature.
