Frederick Lonsdale

Frederick Lonsdale was a British playwright and musician who wrote librettos for several successful musicals early in the 20th century, including King of Cadonia, The Balkan Princess, Betty, The Maid of the Mountains, Monsieur Beaucaire and Madame Pompadour. He also authored comedy plays such as Aren't We All?, The Last of Mrs Cheyney and On Approval, as well as the murder melodrama But for the Grace of God. Some of his works were adapted into films, and he wrote a number of screenplays. Lonsdale was born in 1881 and died in 1954.
