Frederick Winslow Taylor

Frederick Winslow Taylor was an American mechanical engineer who was widely known for his methods to improve industrial efficiency. He was one of the first management consultants and summarized his efficiency techniques in his book The Principles of Scientific Management in 1909. His work in applying engineering principles to factory operations was instrumental in the development of industrial engineering. His main source of income came from patenting improvements to steelmaking.
