Fredric Wertham

1 standalone book

Fredric Wertham (1895-1981) was a German-American psychiatrist born in Munich who moved to the US in 1922. His 1954 book Seduction of the Innocent argued comic books caused harmful effects on childhood development, prompting a US Congressional inquiry and the creation of the Comics Code. Research into his papers, donated to the Library of Congress in 2010, later showed his data did not support his conclusions.
