Gaspar Frutuoso

Gaspar Frutuoso was a Portuguese priest, historian, and humanist from the island of São Miguel in the Azores. He is known for his detailed descriptions of the history and geography of the Azores, Madeira, the Canary Islands, and references to Cape Verde, which he documented in his six-part work Saudades da Terra and Saudades do Céu. His writings remain a significant contribution to the historical record of these regions.
