Geoffroi de Villehardouin

Geoffroi de Villehardouin (c. 1150-c. 1210) was a French knight and historian who took part in and chronicled the Fourth Crusade. He is best known for his eyewitness account De la Conquete de Constantinople, describing the capture of Constantinople in 1204 and considered the earliest surviving French historical prose narrative.
