George MacDonald Fraser (2 April 1925 – 2 January 2008) was an English-born author of Scottish descent, a Scottish author and screenwriter best known for a series of works featuring the character Flashman. He wrote eleven novels and one short-story collection in the Flashman series, plus non-fiction, short stories, novels and screenplays, including the James Bond film Octopussy and an adaptation of his own novel Royal Flash.
