H. Beam Piper (1904–1964) was an American science fiction writer, best known for his extensive Terro-Human Future History series and a shorter series of Paratime alternate history tales. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he made his living working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and his novel Little Fuzzy was nominated for a Hugo Award in 1963.
