Rosalie Matilda Kuanghu Chou was a Chinese-born Eurasian physician and author who wrote under the pen name Han Suyin. She wrote in English and French on modern China and set her novels in East and Southeast Asia. Her works included autobiographical memoirs that covered the span of modern China, and she was recognized as an ardent supporter of the Chinese Communist Revolution. She lived in Lausanne, Switzerland, for many years until her death.
