Henry W. Bragdon was Cowles Professor in the Humanities Emeritus at the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. He held leadership roles as President of the New England History Teachers' Association and Chief Examiner in Social Studies for the College Entrance Examination Board. He also served as a Lecturer in General Education at Harvard College and was a member of the New Hampshire Constitutional Convention and the Exeter School Board. His work Woodrow Wilson: The Academic Years was nominated for a National Book Award in 1968.
