Ibn Abidin was an Islamic scholar and jurist who lived in Damascus during the Ottoman era. He was an authority on the Hanafi madhhab and served as a state employee with the title of Amin al-fatwa, providing legal rulings to the people of Damascus. He authored over 50 works, including a major fatwa collection, treatises, poems, and commentaries on the works of other scholars.
