Ilango Adigal was a Tamil Jain monk from the city of Vanci in southern India. He belonged to the Chera royal family and is traditionally credited as the author of the epic poem Cilappatikaram. Cilappatikaram is one of the Five Great Epics of Tamil literature. He is also noted as the author of Cilappatikaram according to Wikidata.
