Israel Finkelstein

Israel Finkelstein is an Israeli archaeologist and professor emeritus at Tel Aviv University. He is the head of the School of Archaeology and Maritime Cultures at the University of Haifa and has conducted fieldwork in northern Israel and the West Bank. Finkelstein is known for his work on the archaeology of the Levant and for developing the "Low Chronology," which reinterpreted the historical context of the Kingdom of Israel and Judah. He is the current excavator of Megiddo and has used archaeological data to challenge traditional biblical narratives.
