James Holland is a historian, writer, and broadcaster known for his best-selling historical works and nine works of historical fiction, including the Jack Tanner novels. He has written and presented numerous television programs and series, including the BBC’s The Battle for Malta, and has created BAFTA-shortlisted documentaries. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a Research Fellow at Swansea University, and co-founder and Chair of the Chalke Valley History Festival. His writings include acclaimed histories such as Fortress Malta: An Island Under Siege, Battle of Britain, Dam Busters, and The War in the West.
